2018/19 Class Details
Winter training class is back for Winter 2018/2019! Leslie Lupien of Pedal Power Training Solutions will be at the helm this year to lead you into a successful 2019 season. Please read her bio below.
This winter periodization program is designed to build a strong foundation on which to succeed as the 2019 cycling season approaches. This class series will benefit cyclists of all disciplines and abilities, from beginners to seasoned racers, and everyone in between.
The series will start with Power/Heart rate zone testing and analysis to determine where you should be working during class. You will complete another test at the end of the series to see how far you have progressed. During the first couple months we will work the aerobic system while incorporating drills to develop muscular strength and pedaling efficiency. As the series continues we will push into anaerobic zones while continuing to work on strength and power. As spring rolls around you will be ready to hit the roads with good form, fitness and improved knowledge.
Leslie is a category 1 cyclist moonlighting as a scientist who has been working with Pedal Power Training Solutions for 2 years. She began road racing in 2011 under the tutelage of Nicole Freedman, famed Boston Olympic cyclist. She continued developing her race skills alongside her Ph.D. program in Experimental and Molecular Medicine at Dartmouth College.
